A 'Minnie' Nail Polish Dilemma

For about a year I have been lusting after O.P.I.'s Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It. It's a super cute clear sparkly polish with little heart sequins!
I dropped so many painfully obvious hints to the boyfriend around my birthday. But did he get it? No.

Anyway, I never got round to buying it because I thought it was too cutesy and little girly to pay the full O.P.I. price tag.

But, Fragrance Direct (bless their souls)now have it on sale at £3.99!!!!
A total bargain I'm sure you all agree!

However, now that I'm faced with the reality of buying it, I'm just not sure.
It's strange because really, why wouldn't you want this amazing polish?
Glitter? Check!
Heart sequins? Check!
Cute Minnie Mouse packaging? You guessed it, check!

So why am I now so unsure about it?
When googling photos of other bloggers' swatches I'm just not sure that it works that well. It looks a bit messy and well...childish.

It pains me to even type this because I have wanted this polish for such a long time, but now I'm not too sure.

Have any of you guys ever wanted something for so long but the reality of the product doesn't quite cut it?
I've found this can often happen with how clothes fit when you try them on, boo!

But, on the bright side Fragrance Direct have tonnes of O.P.I. polish bargains so hopefully something else will take my fancy!

O.P.I. Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?

After the huge success I have enjoyed with O.P.I.'s I'm Not Really A Waitress, I thought I would try another colour.

This time I plucked for a warm and bright Orange tone: Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?

I mean, how fantastic is that name? I'm totally hooked on Nashville where they say y'all all the time, so the name really excited me!

I surprised myself by picking this colour as I normally stick to traditional pinky hues, and I don't even like the colour orange that much.
But I adore this hue! It reminds me of an orange ice lolly, I have to stop myself from licking it!

In terms of application it was very easy and dried fairly quickly. The above photo is with two coats as it comes out quite thin.
But nonetheless it's an absolutely delicious orange, perfect for this warmer weather!

What nail colours do you tend to go for? Would you brave an orange nail?

Merry Christmas! (Belated)

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

I’m someone who enjoys the build-up to Christmas far more than the day itself.
However, I did have a lovely day with my family gorging on great food and wine. Then as a treat my boyfriend came on Boxing day which made me a very happy girl!

This year I bought myself two presents…

O.P.I.’s I’m not really a waitress – I’ve been hunting for the perfect red nail polish for years, one that is not post-box red but a classy non-clashing red. And I do believe I have found my soulmate red in this colour.

I had heard so many good things about I’m not really a waitress, for example did you know that it is O.P.I.’s most popular shade of red and their best selling nail lacquer of all time?! I mean, you can’t argue with that can you.

And, on top of that it was originally released in 1999 as part of O.P.I.’s Hollywood Collection which for me just emphasises the sexy, classic glamour that comes with this colour.
I think it will be my new fall-back colour, if I ever can’t decide what colour to paint my nails I will be making a bee line to this one.

I love this colour, even after a few days of wearing it I still stop to stare at my nails and admire the micro-shimmers which just gives it an extra pazaz! It’s got a classic, timeless look – I can see this being in my collection for the rest of my days!

My second present to myself was seasons one and two of Gossip Girl which is another of my obsessions (See here and here).

After watching the final episode last week I knew that I wanted to own it so I stalked ebay and found the seasons one and two box-set for under £10!
I plan to buy the other seasons too so that I can have Blair and Chuck forever!
